So News in my Crazy Life....

So this year I was a winch pirate.
My girls!! I've been so lucky to find a great group of woman to be friends with!! I've been building on these relationships and it is so rewarding!!!

Also the beautiful woman carrying my nephew.....yes I said nephew!!! See the photos below. He is to be born on December 25th and his name is Bryson Jacob Lewis!!!! It is so exciting and amazing at the same time!!!!

I've paid my car off this past month so that is a big step in my life too!!

My parents and I will be leaving next Monday for the bahamas for a wedding......so freaking excited about that!!!!!!!!!!!! I've missed the islands so very much and can't wait to go diving in the beautiful waters!! I'll blog about it when I return, promise!!!

So scrappy news for me. I haven't had time to do that lately but I hope to start scrapping again so because there well be a beautiful baby boy to be scrapping!!

Bad Blogger

I know that I haven't been updating my blog. I've been busy with alot of things in my life. Working 40 hours a week on a funny schedule but that will be changing this week!!! Spending time with my friends in real live and reminding myself that I can have fun and be myself!!! Looking for a house in Sarasota and that isn't going the way I really want it to but what can you do? Just did an interview for a position within my company so keeping my fingers crossed because I know that I would be really good at the job!!! Been scrapbooking some....see as followsMy brother jumped into the lake, then Bailey followed while everyone else want to join. It was very funny!!

My brother and my mother at a wedding a few years back. Getting them both dressed up is like pulling teeth!! So love these photos!!

I know that I haven't posted here since Feb. Bad Blogger!! Smack my hand bad!!! I've had alot going on in my person live that my blog has been left sitting :( Put I hope to be blog more now that my life has ironed out and I'm moving forward. Have a great new job working for the local cable company as an Customer Service Rep (which can have it's charges but I'm working and so very happy about that!!!). I'm now a single 26 year old young woman. Went through a bad break up at the end of last month. Don't worry about the break up because it is for the BEST!!! I'm so happy in my life right now!!! Just wanted to give a small update about what has been going on w/ me.

Now onto the real show!!!

I did this for the challenge up over at The Design Experiment about "What do you love about yourself"

Journaling: Is that no matter what anyone thinks, says, or does to me...I'm still Me!!! I'm still happy, fun, smart, good looking, a country girl, love w/all my heart and a swearer! I know who I AM and I love that!

The challenge really fit for my feelings right now in my life. That no matter what happens I'm still me and no one can break that!!!! No matter how hard I stumble or fall I'll still get up and brush off the legs and I'll stand tall holding my head up high and know that I'm ok because I'm ME!!!

Anyways how everyone had a great Easter and a wonderful weekend!!!

A farewell......

Monday morning I had to say goodbye to my best friend of 11 years....Annie Mae was in pain and there was nothing we could do for her. I spent 24 hours by her side. Taking care of her till we could take her to the vets office. It was so very hard to watch her suffer.

I miss her so very much!!! There is a hole in my heart but I know that I did the best thing for her!! I'm sorry to be so sad but I really need to get this out!!

I've been absent from the Scrapbooking world but my laptop got dropped off a chair...so needless to say it isn't working....so this is way I haven't been posting.

So this is going to be a photo heavy post...

I did this Layout for the 4 product challenge over at Studio Calico and it is inspired by Lisa's (aka gluestickgirl on the boards). Here's the list of allowed supplies:

1 sheet of patterned paper (may be double sided)

Studio Calico stamp

buttons

1 length of ribbon

(we also said they could use cardstock and any tools they wanted)

It was a great challenge and I love how this Layout turned out!!! One piece of two side Sassafras paper goes very far!!!

This one I used the product negative from Sassafras chipboard frames. Journaling: Lisa, Jake, Jeff, Eva and I were all sitting in the living room after dinner talking. All of a sudden Eva sticks her arms out to her side with this big grin on her face and she starts swinging her arms from side to side saying "I did it! I did it!" We laughed so HARD!

Used a piece of my souvenir bag from the Space Needle. Also took a page from April's book from Studio Calico. If you haven't seen her work you really need to make a point of looking!!! She is just so amazing at this paper and scissor thing!!!! She inspired the cutting up of my cardstock and inserting patterned paper. I really love this look!!!

Used the negative lefted over from the Layout above. The orange paper went perfectly with my subject!!! My great-grandmother, grandfather, mother, and now my brother and me are all floridan's....hense the fourth generation.

I did this for a Rough Draft Sketch. Unfortunately you will never see the sketch because Zoe and Jemma closed down the challenge blog....which made me sad but life get's in the way sometimes....we have all been there!! Journaling: I'm so glad I got to see you! You have become an amazing man! xoxo

Two things inspired this LO...a pagemaps sketch and April Foster from Studio Calico...got the glossy accents out for this page and made random lottery numbers glossy..it is really neat in person!! Journaling: It didn't take long 4 mom and me to spoil you!! xoxo

This is my lift of the fabulous Nicole Samuels over at Studio Calico. Her's was an 8 1/2 x 11 but I wanted mine a 12 x 12 so this is what I did. Journaling: We were coloring together and you were just jabbering on about something to me... all of a sudden you looked up at me, cricked your head to the side and said "HUH?!"

One thing is for sure Studio Calico has some amazing talent on their Design Team!!!! Even if you never get one of their kits...you can still get so much inspiration from them!!! Even in the member gallery there is some really great talent!!!

Journaling: Christmas tradition is to spend the day eating good!! We have three big meals...breakfast, lunch, and dinner....but one meal is always Stone Crabs!!!!

So this week I had alot of fun with the sketch!!!!

First we have my 12 x 12 Layout. Using Studio Calico Kit. Photo of my cousins Jake and Jeff, Jake's wife Lisa, their little girl Eva, and little old me!! Journaling: In Florida we don't have Red Robin restaurants yet but we do have the commercials!! The food looks so good too!! So when I saw one I asked if we could eat there before I left. I got the 5 alarm burger and it was so good and big!! I'm so glad we got to go because I got this PHOTO!!

I also made a card using the sketch!! Love how this turned out!! Used my slice to make the scallop circle and scraps from my Studio Calico kit.

So this weekend I was a ATC making fool!!!! I finished two sets of cards for some swaps over at SIStv!! And these three beauties for my partners at StudioCalico.com.....I love them!!! I don't want to give them away...so that is way I'm posting them so that I have too!!!!

Seattle

Day 1: Flying for 12 hours!!! Playing with baby Eva!! Watching her spend so time with her daddy (my cousin). So cute!!!

Day 2: Eva with her ponytail! Spending the day in Seattle with my cousin Jeff. Have a great time together even if it rained off and on all day!!!!
Day 3: Lazy day with the family!! Rained most of the day. Lisa and I tryed on Jake's army gear...wow that stuff is really heavy!!!
Day 4: Went to a park down the street. Jake, Lisa, Eva, Jeff, and I....even though it was raining off and on it was still beautiful!!!
Day 5: It was Eva's day!!! Babysitted her for the morning and we all went to dinner that night!!
Day 6: I had my own adventure in Seattle!! Loved it!! Went up in the space needle and just had so much fun taking photos and some shopping!!!

All in all it was a great trip!!! I did get a cold but oh well!!!!

I'm proud in a way.....

This Layout was one of very first ones.....I did in March of 2006.......everything was square....stickers that I won't touch now!!! But it makes me proud to see that my Scrapbooking skills have improved greatly since then!!!
This is one of my most recent LO's.....what do you think? A big difference if you ask me....I did use stickers on this Lo but they don't have that cartoon feel or cheese feel either....but also my skills have moved from just paper to staples, sewing, punches, layering, and details are always there!!!
With this Lo I challenged my self to only use 8 of everything....8 pp, 8 circles, 8 beads, 8 stitches, 8 stickers, and 8 staples. So what do you think?

On a Lighter Note

The photos are of my grandmother, mother, and Aunt Cindy from 1983 and 1984...the little one is me.

Journaling: Not only are they beautiful on the outside....they are stunningly gorgeous on the inside! Each one of them have been through their own battles...yet they still smile and love with all their hearts! They amaze me everyday! I'm so proud to call them my pretty committee!

I booked my ticket the other day to go.....

Seattle!!! I'm so excited!!! Not only do I get to go to Seattle but I get too see my cousin Jake, his wife Lisa, and their baby Eva....who is just the cutest thing ever!!! I'll have so many photos when I get back it wouldn't even be funny!!! So if you read my blog and have anythings I could do will I'm there please let me know....go Oct 2 to 8th....So it will be chilly for me the pure-blood Floridan that I am!!! But I'm still so excited because I've never been!! I have a couple of flea markets that I hope to hit while I'm there.

7 Years Today.....

I was driving to school just behind the Sarasota/Bradenton Airport....looking at Air Force One sitting on the tarmac...thinking that I would have to stop on my way home to get some photos of the Presidents plane!! How neat it was that the President of the United States of America was visiting our city....he was there to read to the children of E. Booker Elementary School!! Anyways just as I was passing that amazing plane I heard that HORRIBLE New about a plane hitting tower one. As the radio people was talking about it the second one hit. My mouth hit the ground... I got goosebumps but it was like this is not really happening!!! Will it didn't sink completely in till I saw the TV....My heart dropped!! I didn't have anyone I know personally or any family in the towers but I did!! They were mothers, fathers, children, sisters, brothers, daughters, sons, husbands, wife, and lovers but most of all they were all Americans that went to work that day like everyother day. I will never forget those innocent people that never came home that day and all the people that have never been found!! I'm sitting here crying because it is that emotional for me and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who still cry's about that day. To my follow American we can't forget and we never will!!!!

Journaling on tags: Physical Traits: Lips will tend to be full with a pursed or puckering quality, the jaw is generally weak. the nose is generally small, facial features will be round, especially the cheeks. The eyes similarly, may appear to bulge with somewhat of a sleepy or dreamy expression, and in them you can get the distinct impression of wisdom, mystery or spiritual depth, giving Pisces' eyes perhaps the most beautiful!

The clear pebbles are arranged just like the constellation.

Had fun with this! Cutting the fabric and sewing....really loving my sewing machine!!!!

Tropical Storm Fay

Is heading our way.....Only to be a Category 1 Hurricane when it lands on Florida...right now south of me in Sarasota but to come up the state right over us. This storm is going to be just that a big thunder, lighting, and wind storm!!! People are freaking out.....it is really weird because it has never been like that before....last time we had a Hurricane was in 2004 and that was a disaster because it didn't go where it was 'suppose too' and alot of people were not ready for this storm!!! I guess I should be alot more worried but I'm not. Weird. But atleast wish me luck that we don't lost power for days!!! That is what I'm worried about!!!

Things that make me smile

Finding these things at a second hand store....one is the old music tape from a piano and the book is a math book from '29. Kerry Lynn gave us the idea about the piano paper at SISiversary and I've been holding onto mine because I didn't want to cut it up but now I can because I have more!!! So happy about that!!

Receiving this in the mail!!! Mandi did a photo swap with me and this is what she made me!!! Doesn't this just rock!!! I was so excited to see it!!!

Getting a new sewing machine!!! I can't wait to use this on my scrapbook pages!!!!!!

Recent Scrapbook Lo's

This one I did about my nightly routine with have tea before I go to bed.
I did this for a challenge over at Scrapinstyletv.com CHA Pass the Parcel but didn't get it loaded in time to count but mine was to use 5 buttons.Did this for the 5 products challenge over at StuidoCalico.com... I find Anne in the funniest sleep potions and always with her tongue hanging out!! This time there was a big pile of drool!!!
My dad is a great hostess's....delivering some kind of smooth drink to his guest's in the pool...just to funny to me!!
All of these photos I took of my mother's garden...which I'm in love with the photos!! I think I did a great job on some of them but I still haven't figured out how to photograph her orchids...really need to play with that!!!

Just doing alot of scrapping stuff....Been being craftive....that rocks!!! I'm going to my local scrapbooking store on Friday to a crop and I'm getting excited!! I'll be scrapping my photos from the 4th of July weekend!!

My Little Secret

I got a email from Kristy Wiseman on June 11th asking me if she could lift one of my layouts....ok so I was so flattered and surprised completely!!! But of course I said yes!!!! I wanted to see what she would come up with. Well I check their blog today and found this:

CWL2283's 'Adorable' layout from the Newsstand Gallery caught Kirsty's eye right away with the sweet pic of her dog and the trim along the edge. Kirsty used a scallop edge at the bottom of the patterned paper as well, but kept the title the same.

I'm getting on a plane tomorrow at 11:00 am in Tampa to go to Nashville, TN to spent the weekend with my SISters for the weekend. I'm excited to be going away for the weekend and meeting all the ladies that I spent so much time with online!! I'm scaried that no one is going to like me! Kind of silly I know but I feel like a child!! I don't have any friends outside of the ladies I know on the interenet....I hope to make a few friends!! I mean the heart and the sewing are wicked...but even when you look closer you see the staples and all the little distressing extras. My favorite part though is the completely unique design!!! I wish I could put this in the catwalk this week but we have to pick collection layouts...this rocks my world!

I'm really loving those SEI pp's!! I wasn't sure that I would like these pp's but I got them in my hands and I just love them!!! Great texture to them and they are fun colors!

So yesterday was my 25th Birthday......I woke up and my mother sang "happy Birthday" to me, that was sweet!!! I worked....went to dinner at Lee Roy Selmon's with my mom and dad. That was my day nothing different just that it was my birthday. This is my 365 photo from yesterday that I took. It was my way of say Happy Birthday to myself....silly, I know but that's ok.

I pre-ordered mine today!!! I haven't got a die-cut machine and I'm glad that I had not got one because this is perfect for me!! I don't want something huge or all the different this you need for the circuit and others like it!! It is 150.00 but compared to 350.00 is fine for me and the cartridges are a disk the size of the one in my camera!!! How can you not store something so small!!!

Update on me is that I broke my laptop last week the 7th so I've been lost without it!!!! I'm still lost because I can't get into my photos or photoshop.....I am still doing my 365 but I can't download them and I'm behind on my layouts and the Elise challenge at SIStv because I can't get to my photos!!!!!! My basket of photos is almost empty and it is really hard on my to scrap without a computer....weird I know!!!

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Vday and I will have lots of photos of the projects that I have finished when I get a computer.

I couldn't pass up getting one of these make and takes from Scrappy Gourmet.....for only $ 9.00 plus shipping.....I know this breaks my 50 lo Diet but I'm not buying anything else....I should have wanted till have CHA winter to start this challenge but I'm going to try and be strong.....it is really killing me because have you seen the American Craft's new thickers and 3-d embellishment?!?! or the Karen Russel's new stuff?!?!?!? ......this is going to be so hard but maybe by the time I'm done everything will be on sale because of CHA Summer!!

Yesterdays quote was: "All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my closeup." Sunset Blvd....well out of the 15 photos I took yesterday this is my favorite....I don't know if you can see the mark on my nose from where my glass sit....I tryed to cover it up in Photoshop and I don't think I did a good job because I can still see it!! Maybe that is because I know it's there?!?! I really love this angle!!! It is the "right" angle!! Not the "wrong" angle.

Just want to update about my progress on my 50 lo's stash diet.

Layout # 2 of 50 and 365 Self-Portaits....."Savor Life's Tiny Delights"...journaling: my delights: My mom and that I have a job with a paycheck every week. I cherish everything I get to do with my mom. My job is a delight because I may not have it soon.

My mom has beat Breast Cancer and she is my hero! I'm so proud to call her mom!

I work for my dad and we do tile work and like everyone that has to do with new homes all our jobs are on the line....It is really scary!!

Layout # 3 of 50...Not Allowed!..journaling: Dad decided to get in the pool because he was HOT! He didn't want two big mouth dog's running around the pool barking. So you had to stay in the bar.

Layout # 4 of 50...Greatgrandkids Keep hearts young.....Photos of my grandmother and her first greatgrandbaby...all of my grandmothers grandchildren are 18years and older.....she was like a little kid on Christmas morning with Eva!

My 365 Self-Portiats is still going strong. I haven't got far with my 50 lo's but I haven't bought anything....well I don't know if it counts but I added on to my monthly kit this next month from Scarlet Lime. I really want to see what the guest designer of the month is doing with plexiglas!! So when it comes to my scrapping I'm doing good but outside of scrapping I'm not doing so well like the exercising atleast 5 days a week...staying away from sweets and soda's.

365 Self-Portiat & Scrap Mojo Lo

I did this Lo for two different things...my first LO for my 365 Self-Portiat and the Scrap Mojo # 6. The challenge for 365 was to use one photo from week 1, your favorite quote, and 2008 Goals. Scrap Mojo was to scrap about your repeated new years resolution that you have every year and sewing either hand or machine. I don't have a repeat resolution because I have never been into the whole new year thing but this year I have.

So far I have completed the last 3 day of the 365 Self-Portaits and I'm thinking of my photo today......Normal day or daily things.....I'm thinking driving because I do it 6 out of 7 days a week....or maybe my computer because I'm always on it.....Still trying to decide!

I haven't started on my 50 LO's yet but I haven't failed and bought something!!! I just haven't got a chance to work on any LO's!!

Stash Diet & 365 Self-Portait

I have stumped across two things in different blogs and are going to be my New Years Resolution for my Scrapbooking.....One is the 365 Self-Portait with Anna B http://www.annalouisebowkis.com/ . . . She is going to may it a really challenge and I love that!!!

Next is the "Stash Diet"....And so it begins...the rules are as follows.
1. Create 50 layouts using only products, tools, and supplies we have on hand.
2. Cardstock and adhesive can be purchased when needed. Who can make many pages with no adhesive?
3. Gift certificates, RAK's, DT kits are not included -those can be used.
4. Larger altered projects count as 1 layout.

I'm excited to do these things because it is going to help me with my photograph and to stop spending money on scrapbooking stuff!!!!!!

I did this LO for two challenges. The first is the OLW Challenge...the word being full. The second is for the 101 Things to do with your Scrapbooking Supplies at Scrapbook.com and that was to thread a shape around buttons (see stars).

Title: full of ideas... (I printed it on my photo)

Journaling: No matter what your doing, whether your talking, sleeping, running, exercising, sitting, laying, laughing, loving, hating, your always full of ideas!!!!

This is my long time boyfriend...He is always thinking!!! His brain going a million miles a second. . . Some times it drives me nuts because he can never finish a conversation before he is starting another one. It can get confusing!! But I still love him with all my heart!!! Thanks for looking!!!

I've been so down lately....I'm really not happy with what isn't happening in my life. It is making me tried, unhappy, mean and just nasty! This just isn't me. I feel like crap. Usually I can go sit at my desk, scrap, and I'm usually fine! I've been scrap but it isn't making me happy....I just hope it pass quickly!!!!!
